Civil Docket
When filing a civil summons, court cost is paid in advance, a court date is set for Monday mornings @ 9:30 a.m.  Once a civil judgment is entered the defendant has 10 days to make an arrangement with the plaintiff or he or she may file a motion for installment payment.  If no arrangement is made, the plaintiff may file a wage garnishment.

Motions will be set for court as allowed by the calendar.

Order of Protections
Order of Protections are set on the court calendar for Wednesdays @ 2:30 p.m.  If a petitioner qualifies, he or she will be given a court date to return for a hearing as allowed by the calendar.  There is no cost in advance for this filing, however, cost may be assessed at the hearing. 

Criminal Docket
Arraignments are set on the court calendar for each morning @ 8:30 a.m., except for Wednesdays.  No arraignments will be heard on holidays and court closings, however, a bond may be set on these dates.

Criminal summons are set for first court appearance on Tuesday mornings @ 8:30 a.m.  When a defendant is served with a summons, he or she will be directed to the madison county jail.  Jail personnel will complete a booking procedure and set a date for first appearance.  If a defendant fails to appear at the first appearance, the judge may issue an arrest warrant.

Criminal trials are set for court on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons @ 1:00 p.m.

Traffic Court
Traffic citations are set for court on Wednesday mornings @ 8:30 a.m.  Defendants may start checking in for court at 8:00 a.m. and will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.
